MEDICAL AND HYGIENE EDUCATION
About the Project

We teach communities basic but life-saving medical education, designed to help eradicate malaria, HIV, hepatitis, and other potentially fatal illnesses. We also provide access to clean drinking water through new technologies and establish other hygiene-associated infrastructure.

The goal of our malaria project specifically is to reduce the incidence of severe illness and death in malaria-infected individuals, offer preliminary treatment for severe malaria cases, and to reduce the overall incidence of malaria infection in the community by 80% within 3 months of the date of project commencement. These goals are to be pursued as a charity for the sake of Allah and to accomplish the following objectives:

-
Demonstrating the beauty of Islam within the community and create affinity of the community members for the religion through positive associations (i.e. acts of charity).

-
Create an opportunity for direct dawah to the community by allowing them to become acquainted with the group through the medical campaign.

-
Establish local Muslims with a firm Islamic identity and understanding of the religion as leaders of the community by training them in basic but life saving /community altering medical skills.

-
Establish a firm base through which to expand efforts to other communities in the province and ultimately to other provinces of Sierra Leone.
